I don’t think there is any women who like waxing process and if exist I frame it in the “quirks of nature” category. Removing hair using wax or electric epilators always causes pain and irritation. But I was wondering…Before modern times, what was the method used by the women to remove their unwanted hair?
The answer is SUGAR WAXING. Sugar waxing is a procedure used by ancient times. This method is used more and more by women at home and also, it is used in cosmetic salons. Sugar waxing is a hair removal method that do not irritates your skin and removes hair with no pain.
It is very simple to prepare sugar wax at home and the ingredients are very cheap. After using it you will notice that you have baby skin.
– 2 cups of sugar
– 1/4 cup of water
– 1/4 cup of lemon juice
– 20-30 minutes of attention
Procedure: Mix all the ingredients in a bowl of special recipient. Put the mixture to boil at medium heat. You have to pay a lot of attention because boils very fast and makes a lot of bubbles. Reduce the heat from medium to low. Continue to stir, until you observe that is changes the color ( like caramel). After that, it will only take a couple more minutes until the sugar wax is ready. You can use it immediately, but first you have to wait to cool a little bit. The rest of sugar wax can be restored in a glass jar and you can use it another time.
There are 2 ways of using it:
– Apply the sugar wax using a wool spatula. Put a piece of cotton cloth over it ( you can use those special bands from the market) and pull in the opposite way of hair growing
– Form a wax ball, apply it on the skin and pull in the opposite way of hair growing.
