4 Ways to keep food warm

There are occasions where we need to cook more food and sometimes when the guests arrive, it cools and needs to be reheated. Here are 4 ways to keep your food warm until you serve it.

1. In a water bath
• Place the food in a deep pan with lid
• Pour hot water in a bigger and deeper pan
• Place the pan with food in the other pan
• Place the pans on a minimal and uniform heat source
• Fill the large pan with water as it evaporates

2. In pressure cooker
• Use a pressure cooker
• Heat the food in a pressure cooker or pour hot food into it
• Cover it and put it at very small heat to keep the food warm

3. Cover the food
• Place the food in a thermal insulating bag
• Cover the food containers in several layers of aluminum foil and then in a cloth to keep the food warm

4. In the oven
• Heat the oven at low heat – below 95 degrees Celsius
• Place a deep frying pan with water at the bottom of the oven
• Cover the food to keep it warm
• Place the pan with food on the oven shelf
• Check food regularly to prevent it from drying or burning
