It happened to everyone at least one time in life to have a broken zipper. It’s very annoying because you can’t dress or undress that cloth with a broken zipper. Although the first thought is to grab a scissor and to cut it, here are two ways to repair a damaged zipper:[expand title=”” trigpos=”below” ]
1. Remove the piece of material that blocks the zipper
Check the zipper on the front and back to see if a piece of material has been caught in it and how long it is.
Try removing the material between the zipper teeth, gently pulling the end of the piece of material.
Move the zipper key as necessary to remove the piece of material trapped in it, taking care not to pull too hard and break the coat.
If you can’t remove the piece of fabric or make the zipper functional, try another method.
2. Repair a zipper using a lubricant
Choose a lubricant like a vaseline, candle wax, lip balm, solid soap, a wax pencil or hair conditioner
Apply a small amount of lubricant to both sides of the zipper, taking care not to stain the coat. Gently pull the zip up and down several times until it moves normally.Remove the lubricant residue on the zipper with a clean cloth or paper towel. Repeat the operation whenever the zip locks.
Using these tips, for sure you will fix any broken zipper.[/expand]
